Hi! I'm Miss DeAnna and I'm the owner of Shining Light Online Academy. I will be your child's personal homeschool teacher, and I'm so excited to have my other fantastic teachers in our program as well! So after you join, I'll stay in close contact to make sure you have a great experience.
I've been working in the education field since I was 9 years old. With a Master's Degree in Dual Language Teacher Leadership from Roosevelt University, a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University, and over 14 years of teaching experience, I'm passionate about creating an engaging, nurturing environment for young learners in the comfort and safety of your own home. Outside of the classroom, I love listening to music, dining out, and enjoying nature!

Shining Light's K-Prep/Kinder Club is designed for busy homeschool parents in mind. It is encouraged that you remain near your child. You and/or your child can just join LIVE or click PLAY! It's user-friendly, and the activities are designed to keep your child challenged and engaged on their own. Plus, it gives you peace of mind, knowing they're in a safe, educational space.
Can I cancel anytime?

Yes! As long as you have an internet connection, you can access it anytime, anywhere, on any device.
Do I need to buy supplies?
No. Our curriculum is designed to be hands-on and self-contained within our class each day. We do offer a SHINE welcome kit with basic essential materials. (Most families have requested a Suggested School Supply List, which we are happy to provide in the event you'd like to purchase additional materials for your child.)
